There are over 25 million veterans in America and over one million veterans in Georgia alone. Hundreds of veterans pass away every day, taking with them their courage and irreplaceable stories. During their lives, they selflessly served their country while putting their own lives at risk to save ours. Near the end of life, Serenity provides the maximum amount of comfort and peace to our nation’s heroes.
Serenity Hospice Care has a heart for veterans, as our company itself is veteran-owned.
Our heroes endured many difficulties in wartime and lived to tell the tale. Unfortunately, when they return to America, many of our veterans face many struggles during their lifetime such as homelessness, substance abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder, and more. We know that our staff and volunteers may provide the last opportunity to honor veterans and make sure they feel valued, and we do not take that lightly. That’s why we need you to volunteer.
If you are a veteran and would like to volunteer, we need you! Many of our veteran volunteers take solace being near someone who has walked where they’ve walked and seen what they’ve seen. Stories come to life when two people who have experienced unforgettable events are together. It provides a feeling of honor and fullness to the patient. Will you volunteer with Serenity today?
They selflessly served us, and we are honored to serve them.
Another way Serenity is set apart from other hospices is our continuous efforts to honor our veteran patients. Different ways we give back include:
- Bereavement counseling related to veterans
- Helping with psychosocial needs
- Honoring them on Veteran’s Day with a meal & certificate of appreciation
- Informing them of veteran benefit information
- Providing veteran-related hospice care
- Veteran Volunteers
We are honored to give back to incredible people who selflessly served us. Learn more at the We Honor Veterans official website.
