Serenity has seven locations throughout the state of Georgia and one inpatient unit, Serenity Place. Our inpatient facility is a 12-bed unit that provides peace and comfort to patients nearing end of life who may need pain or symptom management or respite care. Registered nurses, physicians, chaplains, social workers, and other staff are at this facility around the clock.
This facility is located in a serene, country setting in Laurens County. In addition to a full staff, this beautiful, homelike facility has:
- 12 spacious & cozy bedrooms
- 24/7 visiting hours
- ADA-compliant rooms & bathrooms
- Dining area
- Large common area
- Rocking chairs for relaxation on the porch
- Pond with a peaceful view
Visitors, family members, and loved ones are welcome at the inpatient unit any time of the day. If you want to spend the night with your loved one, that is absolutely allowed and encouraged! We can provide a comfortable cot or recliner for you to sleep on. We understand that being close to your loved one during this difficult time is very important.
This unit also serves caregivers who are searching for respite care relief. We understand the emotional, physical, and mental toll it has on those who care for a terminally ill patient. We want to provide a place for caregivers to regain a sense of self and relax.
Many caregivers avoid respite care relief because they feel guilty of leaving loved ones for even a few hours. However, this time away will help not only the caregiver but also the terminally ill patient in various ways. Respite care relief:
- Allows for personal time
- Enables rest & relaxation
- Provides an emotional outlet
- Reduces stress
- Restores energy
In order to keep life in a healthy balance, it’s vitally important to take the time for yourself by opting for a period of relief.
